Many people come to Reiki seeking inner peace. They come with stress and anxiety as well as ill health. I did myself. Filled with a lifetime of clutter, divorced, exhausted, completely on my own with three small children and only a very faint hope that I deserved better, I came to Reiki having read about it in a novel, hearing about it from a friend and, finally, seeing a brochure in a shop. It was a risk, but one I felt called to take. Nothing to lose, actually, and everything to gain ... or at least so I hoped.
Imagine my dismay, therefore, on turning up on the first day to find a very strange mixture of people. They ranged - from my then perspective - from the angry, through the desperate (that would be me!), to the rather ungrounded and a bit "flakey"!
You know what? People were actually hugging complete strangers! I wondered what I had got myself into. It all seemed very strange and not at all what I was used to. |
It was the beginning of a journey to inner peace - the inner peace I hadn't known I was looking for until it presented itself to me in the form of Reiki.
Where are you right now? What is it that brought you to this page? Illness, perhaps or stress? Exhaustion? Pain? Or do you feel trapped in a life you're unhappy with and never intended to have?
Has Reiki been calling you, as is did me?
That first experience of Reiki was the turning point. Of the many gifts Reiki has given through the decade and a half I've now been practising, that cheerfulness was only the beginning. Reiki has given me courage to face and overcome many trials, the energy to live life fully and with meaning and friends all over the world. it has opened up my mind and heart. Reiki has changed my life and outlook completely.
Reiki could be the first step on your own journey to inner peace.
